Speech Unit

The specialists in the Speech and language Department provide assessment for all the enrolled children in the following areas:

• (1) All communication disorders
• (2) Hearing
• (3) Feeding and swallowing
• (4) And Oral-motor skills, using variety of evaluation methods

Depending on the assessment results, an enrichment plan is outlined for each child to help improve his/her communication level and/or feeding and swallowing skills. Furthermore, specialists use different types of instruments, tools and materials to help in achieving these plans such as Speech Viewer, Visi Pitch, Makaton signs and symbols; while for feeding and swallowing, each child is provided with their feeding equipment and exercises that are suitable for their condition and meet their needs.
